Stop Babeling.
I hate article titles like this. There is no doubt that the Babylonians built Towers. The Tower of Babel story, however, is about God and man. It is not about the Babylonians. The Tower of Babel story explains how a universal God became a tribal God. It explains how the rest of the world didn’t know this God. It also explains why there are wars and divisions when there is only one God. Pentecost for Christians tells the story of how that same God reunited the divisions. A physical Tower is pointless in this Biblical context. Unfortunately too many Christians don’t get the meaning of Pentecost. Stop the wars. Stop the bickering. Love your neighbor.
